Binance withdrawals phase 3: HYPE, Aptos and Litecoin due by mid-November
Binance aims to reopen withdrawals for HYPE, INJ, APT, PLASMA, NEAR and LTC by the end of next week, without a fixed date. Which coins already move out via BNB Smart Chain, why HYPE is still waiting despite not being stolen, and what you should secure in the meantime.

Binance withdrawals for HYPE, INJ, APT, PLASMA, NEAR and LTC are set to resume by the end of next week, which on current timing means by around mid-November. The exchange announced this on Friday, November 6, in a post on its official X account. Binance gives a target rather than a fixed date. Until then, these six coins cannot be withdrawn on their own networks, while deposits do work.
For investors in Germany this is the third stage since the October 29 hack. If you hold Hyperliquid (HYPE), Injective (INJ), Aptos (APT), Plasma (ticker XPL), NEAR Protocol or Litecoin (LTC) on Binance, you can reach some of your coins today via a detour and others not at all. This guide shows which coin comes out by which route, why Hyperliquid stays blocked even though none was stolen, and what you should secure until the reopening.
Binance phase 3: six coins and five networks on the roadmap
The November 6 announcement has two parts. First, Binance says it is working to reopen withdrawals for HYPE, INJ, APT, PLASMA, NEAR and LTC by the end of next week. Second, the exchange wants to release all tokens running on networks that have already been restored by the same date. It names BNB Smart Chain (BSC), Ethereum, Polygon, Arbitrum and Optimism. The Korean outlet Bloomingbit and the Chinese portal PANews both report the post in the same terms; PANews renders the deadline as "before next weekend".
For many holders the second part matters almost more than the first. Hundreds of tokens live on Ethereum or BNB Smart Chain, and Binance has so far only enabled them in batches. If you hold a smaller token that has not appeared on any of the lists so far, you should be able to withdraw it again by mid-November as well, provided it runs on one of these five networks.
How a target differs from a commitment
Binance writes "working to". That is an intention. In all of its notices so far, the exchange has also stressed that not all listed assets become available at the same time. Each coin-and-network pair only opens once the security checks for that specific pair are complete. So do not plan around a specific day on which you can safely move your coins.
Binance Recovery Updates 4 to 9: where the post-hack reopening stands
Since the October 29 attack, in which around $6.3 billion flowed out according to Cointelegraph, Binance has been publishing numbered notices titled "Recovery Update". A Recovery Update is an official status report from the exchange on the progress of the restoration. The sequence so far:
- October 31, Update 3: Binance says it has set aside more than $6.34 billion of company funds for the losses and replaced 90 percent of the stolen amount. The exchange, not its customers, bears the damage.
- November 1, Update 4: Phase one opens 15 networks, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, BNB Smart Chain, Solana, the XRP Ledger, Dogecoin and Sui, each with a few coins.
- November 3, Update 6: Phase two brings many coins with their own blockchain only as BEP20 tokens on BNB Smart Chain, including Litecoin and NEAR.
- November 4, Update 7: According to Binance, 98 percent of the stolen assets have been replaced, plus an expanded proof of reserves.
- November 5 and 6, Updates 8 and 9: More tokens on Ethereum, BSC, Base, Arbitrum, Optimism, Polygon, Avalanche, Tron and Sui follow. Injective is added via BNB Smart Chain on November 5.
What is missing from all of these lists is what matters for you: the native blockchains of Hyperliquid, Aptos, Plasma, Injective, NEAR and Litecoin are still absent. Phase 3 is meant to close exactly that gap. According to the exchange, deposits were not affected at any point. If you send coins to the exchange now, they will be credited, but you may not be able to withdraw them again right away.

Why Hyperliquid (HYPE) stays blocked even though none was stolen
HYPE is the most striking case on the list. According to the news portal Bitcoin Foundation, HYPE withdrawals at Binance had been suspended for eight days as of November 6, even though Hyperliquid is among the largest cryptocurrencies by market value. On-chain analyst MLM writes on X that HYPE was not among the stolen assets. Binance has not published its own confirmation of this.
The exchange expressly gives no reason for the suspension. It points in general terms to the fact that every network and every coin has to pass its own security checks before withdrawals resume. Binance also cites heavy demand since the reopening, which slows processing and technical reviews. For Hyperliquid one explanation suggests itself but is not confirmed: the Hyperliquid blockchain works differently from Ethereum-compatible networks, and an exchange has to run separate hot wallets, signing procedures and monitoring for each blockchain. A hot wallet is a wallet permanently connected to the internet from which the exchange serves withdrawals. Binance does not say whether that explains the delay.
HYPE suspension: no transfers to the Hyperliquid exchange
For HYPE holders on Binance, the suspension has a practical consequence. You can sell or hold HYPE on the exchange, but you cannot move it to your own wallet or to another platform such as the Hyperliquid exchange itself. Anyone who wanted to hedge a position or top up margin there has to use other funds.
BEP20 detour: Litecoin, NEAR and Injective already come out via BNB Smart Chain
Three of the six coins are not completely blocked. Litecoin and NEAR have been on the BNB Smart Chain list since November 3, Injective since November 5. You can therefore withdraw them as BEP20 tokens. BEP20 is the token standard of BNB Smart Chain, comparable to ERC20 on Ethereum. A Litecoin as a BEP20 token is a so-called Binance-Peg token: Binance issues it itself and, by its own account, holds the real coin as backing on a one-to-one basis.
The detour has two catches. First, the receiving wallet needs an address on BNB Smart Chain; a pure Litecoin wallet cannot do anything with the token. If you choose BSC and enter a native Litecoin address, you risk losing the transaction. Second, the value of the peg token depends on Binance's backing promise. NEAR network staking and applications on Injective do not recognize the token. How BEP20 works and which wallets can handle it is explained in detail in our guide to Binance withdrawals in phase 2.
Is the detour worth it if phase 3 is coming anyway?
That depends on what you plan to do with the coins. If you just want them off the exchange and stored safely, waiting for the native network is usually the cleaner solution. You avoid a second conversion and receive the real coin. If you need the coins quickly, for example on another platform that accepts BEP20 tokens, the detour is already open today. Check in the withdrawal screen beforehand whether Binance charges a fee or sets a minimum amount for BSC.
Move your coins safely to a hardware walletAptos, Plasma and HYPE: no way out yet for three coins
For Aptos, Plasma and Hyperliquid, no alternative network appears in any of Recovery Updates 4 to 9. If you hold these coins on Binance, you can currently only trade or hold them on the exchange. Aptos is a standalone layer-1 blockchain, meaning a base network with its own validators. Plasma is a blockchain geared toward stablecoin payments whose coin trades under the ticker XPL. For both, Binance has to review and approve its own connection.
Holders of these three coins essentially have two options until the reopening. You can wait and leave the coins on the exchange. Binance says it has replaced 98 percent of the stolen assets and is buying the rest on the market and over the counter. Or you sell on Binance for a coin that can already be withdrawn, such as a stablecoin like USDT, and withdraw that. In Germany a sale is a taxable event. If your purchase was less than a year ago, a gain is taxable under Section 23 of the German Income Tax Act if your total private disposal gains for the year reach the €1,000 exemption threshold. After a holding period of more than one year, the gain is tax-free.
When selling on the exchange makes more sense than waiting
You should not consider a sale just because of the withdrawal freeze. It can make sense if you wanted to exit anyway or if it realizes a loss you can offset against other gains. Anyone who wants to stay invested in Aptos or Hyperliquid for the long term pays trading fees twice with a sale and later buyback, and may restart a holding period that is already running. This is a trade-off, not a recommendation either way.
A target, not a promise: how firm is the Binance deadline?
Many investors see last week's track record as a sign that Binance roughly keeps to its timelines. The exchange had announced phase one for Sunday, November 1, and started it that day. Phase two came as announced on November 3. Binance does, however, open coin-and-network pairs step by step. According to the "Recovery Update #9" notice, not all assets on a list are available immediately, and the order follows customer demand in the previous week.
For the phase 3 coins, many traders read that as follows: Litecoin and NEAR are likely to come early because of high demand, smaller assets such as Plasma later. That order is not confirmed; it simply follows the rule Binance itself states. The withdrawal page in the Binance app shows the current status for your coin and the selected network. If a network is greyed out there, it has not been released yet. Binance recommends trying again after a short while if a withdrawal fails and says it will post updates on its official X account.
And what about euro withdrawals to a bank account?
Binance reopened fiat withdrawals, meaning withdrawals in government-issued currency, for several currencies on November 2 according to Cointelegraph, including the US dollar, UAE dirham, Vietnamese dong, Philippine peso and Indonesian rupiah. The report does not mention the euro. Whether a SEPA transfer to your bank account is currently working can be seen in the EUR withdrawal screen in your account.
Phishing after the Binance hack: fake withdrawal helpers demand fees
Any waiting period at a large exchange attracts scammers. In its notices on the gradual reopening, Binance itself warns that criminals are impersonating the exchange. Cointelegraph quotes the exchange as saying that anyone promising to speed up a withdrawal for a fee is a scammer. There is no paid fast lane. The release comes for all customers at the same time, once the network in question has passed its checks.
Typical scams in such phases are messages via Telegram or WhatsApp in which a supposed support agent offers an "early release", fake login pages with a slightly altered address, and emails with a link to supposedly verify your account. Never share your 2FA codes, your seed phrase or your password. Two-factor authentication, or 2FA, is a second code in addition to your password, usually from an app on your smartphone. Binance never asks for it. Only open the exchange via the official app or an address you type in yourself.

Document your Binance account: record balance, transaction ID and network choice
As long as your coins are stuck, clean documentation is the most important precaution you can take yourself. It takes a few minutes and helps with any query, whether with customer support, on your tax return or if something does go wrong.
- Save your balance: Take a screenshot of the asset overview with date and time, and export the transaction history as a file. Binance offers this in its reports and statements section.
- Record withdrawal attempts: If a withdrawal fails or hangs, note the coin, network, amount and the transaction ID, if Binance shows one.
- Keep the notices: Download the Recovery Updates as PDFs. They will later show from when a network was open.
For the German tax office, the transaction history is required reading anyway. Every deposit, every swap and every withdrawal is part of documenting your crypto transactions. Transfers between your own wallets are not sales and do not trigger tax; the holding period keeps running.
Compare exchanges with a MiCA licenseAfter the reopening: your own wallet instead of an exchange account for larger amounts
The Binance hack shows why custody is not a side issue. If you leave coins on a crypto exchange, legally you only hold a claim against the exchange. Binance has pledged to cover the damage from its own funds and says it has replaced 98 percent. Even so, customers could not access their coins for a week. At an exchange without comparable reserves, such an attack could have ended very differently.
Once your coins can be withdrawn again, it makes sense to consider how much really needs to stay on the exchange. For trading you only need the part you actively trade with. You can keep the rest in your own wallet. A hardware wallet is a small device that stores private keys offline and only releases each transaction after confirmation on the device. Not all devices support the native blockchains of Hyperliquid, Aptos and NEAR, so check compatibility before buying.
If you want to switch exchanges after the incident, look for a license under the EU's MiCA crypto-asset regulation. With such a license the exchange is supervised in the EU, including on the segregation of customer funds and company assets. We have put together an overview of crypto exchanges with a MiCA license. A license does not protect against every hack, but it governs how the exchange must handle your balance.
Binance withdrawals: time to gather records until mid-November
Whether Litecoin, Hyperliquid or Aptos, the coming days decide when you regain full control of your coins. These three steps can be tackled today:
- Plan custody: Decide which part of your coins moves to your own wallet after the reopening, and compare suitable hardware wallets for it.
- Check the network: If your destination wallet cannot handle BEP20, wait for the native network. An overview of which software wallets support which blockchains helps you choose the receiving address.
- Compare providers: If you are looking for a second trading venue after the hack, consider regulated crypto exchanges with a MiCA license and do not keep your balance on a single platform.
