Binance reopens Shiba Inu withdrawals five days after the hack

Analysis: since Tuesday morning Binance lets Shiba Inu leave the exchange again, five days after the hack. SHIB trades at $0.00000457, and the $0.0000045 level carries more weight than the reopening itself.

What is confirmed: since Tuesday morning, November 3, 2026, at 5 a.m. Central European Time, Binance has again allowed Shiba Inu (SHIB) to be withdrawn from the exchange, for the first time since the attack of October 29. Our assessment follows further down: the reopening solves an operational problem, but it gives the price no momentum of its own, and for the direction of the coming days the $0.0000045 level matters more than the news. Where the price could head over a horizon of months is covered in our Shiba Inu price prediction.

On Tuesday morning SHIB trades at $0.00000457 according to CoinGecko data, roughly €0.00000409. Over 24 hours it is down 1.2 percent, over seven days 5.5 percent and over 30 days 20.1 percent. Compared with the level before the attack, the daily close of October 28, it is 7.9 percent lower.

Binance reopening on November 3: SHIB on the list since 5 a.m.

Binance is reopening withdrawals in stages after the theft of around $6.3 billion. On Sunday, November 1, Bitcoin and 15 networks came back first, as we described in our report on the first reopening phase. According to crypto.news, the next phase began on Tuesday at 5 a.m. Central European Time. It covers tokens on the Ethereum blockchain and on Solana, including SHIB, which runs as an ERC-20 token on Ethereum.

Reports differ on exactly how many tokens were added. Crypto.news counts 31 further Ethereum tokens plus five stablecoins, so 36 on Ethereum, and 20 on Solana. The portal U.Today names 34 Ethereum tokens and 22 Solana tokens, citing a statement by Binance co-founder Yi He. The core is undisputed: besides SHIB, Chainlink, Bonk, Ondo and the Trump token, among others, can be withdrawn again.

Still pending, according to Binance, are BNB Smart Chain, the XRP Ledger, Arbitrum, Optimism, Tron and Base, among others. The exchange has not given a fixed date for the rest. By its own account Binance had replaced around 95 percent of the missing holdings from company funds by November 1; the remaining gap concerns less liquid coins that can only be bought back slowly in the required amounts. Binance has set the next cut-off date for its proof of reserves for Wednesday, November 4, and the evaluation is expected to take 40 to 50 hours.

Shiba Inu price on Tuesday: $0.00000457, 7.9 percent below the pre-hack level

At the daily close of October 28, the evening before the attack, SHIB stood at $0.00000496 according to CoinGecko. It ended the day of the hack itself at $0.00000464, recovered briefly to $0.00000480 on Friday and has been slipping in small steps since. The range of the past 24 hours runs from $0.00000452 to $0.00000466.

Trading activity has barely picked up. In the 24 hours to Tuesday morning, $42.8 million worth of SHIB changed hands, according to CoinGecko. In the days right after the hack volume was at times more than twice as high, reaching up to $110 million within 24 hours around the turn of the month. Market capitalisation stands at $2.69 billion.

Since Sunday: both November levels have broken

In our Shiba Inu price prediction of November 1, SHIB stood at $0.0000047 and was on none of the reopening lists published at the time. As levels for the first day of November we had named $0.00000466 and $0.00000473. Both are now above the price. Daily volume has risen from $34.6 million to $42.8 million, while market capitalisation has fallen from $2.77 billion to $2.69 billion. The only new element since Sunday is access: anyone holding SHIB at Binance can now send it to their own wallet or to another exchange again.

Withdrawal freeze and selling pressure: how the backlog affects the SHIB price

A withdrawal freeze works in two directions. As long as coins cannot leave an exchange, holders can only sell them there or leave them where they are. Anyone who wanted to sell on another trading venue, for instance because the spread was tighter there, had to wait. At the same time nobody could move coins off Binance to use them elsewhere as collateral for leveraged positions.

The reopening clears this backlog. Whether it creates selling pressure depends on what holders intend to do with their SHIB. If they move the tokens into self-custody, that does not move the price at first: a transfer from an exchange to a wallet is not a sale. If they send the tokens to another exchange to sell there, the supply reaches the market after all, with a delay of a few hours. The author of the analysis at U.Today, Arman Shirinyan, writes that the SHIB price trend remains downward and is unlikely to turn simply because withdrawals have reopened.

Dogecoin as a precedent: down 2 percent in two days after the reopening

How a coin reacts to the reopening can already be seen in Dogecoin. DOGE was part of the first phase on Sunday, as we described on November 1 in our Dogecoin report on the Binance reopening. At midday on Sunday DOGE traded at around $0.0758 according to CoinGecko data, and on Tuesday morning at $0.0743. The loss of 2.0 percent in roughly 48 hours is in line with the broader market: Bitcoin lost 3.5 percent over the past seven days.

Over the same period SHIB, without a reopening, fell from $0.0000047 to $0.00000457, a decline of 2.8 percent. Dogecoin saw no sell-off immediately after withdrawals opened. The comparison has limits, because Dogecoin has its own blockchain and different large holders. It does show, however, that the feared wave of selling after a reopening did not materialise in the first case.

Exchange reserves of 85.8 trillion SHIB: the figure for the coming days

Whether outflows after the reopening become a burden is shown better by another metric than by the price: the amount of SHIB held on trading venues. Based on on-chain data, U.Today put this figure at around 85.8 trillion tokens at the start of November. With 589 trillion SHIB in circulation, just under a seventh sits on exchanges.

To define the term: exchange reserves are the sum of all SHIB on addresses that analytics services attribute to trading venues. If the figure falls in the days after the reopening, holders are moving their tokens into self-custody, which takes supply off the market. If it rises, tokens are moving from wallets to exchanges, which often precedes selling. Because of the Binance reopening the figure is likely to fluctuate in the coming days, as transfers between exchanges are counted in both directions.

Shiba Inu price prediction in three scenarios: $0.0000045, $0.00000496 and $0.00000532

The following levels are based on CoinGecko daily closing prices over the past twelve months and on the U.Today analysis. We calculated the moving averages ourselves from these closing prices. Because daily closes smooth out intraday swings, individual lows may be a few percent lower at other data providers.

Downside: below $0.0000045 the August and yearly lows come closer

U.Today names $0.0000045 as the next support. The price is less than 2 percent above it. If SHIB closes a day below that level, the mid-August low at $0.00000439 is next, around 4 percent below today's price. Below that lies the yearly low of the closing prices at $0.00000411 from mid-July, around 10 percent lower. U.Today lists almost the same zones with $0.0000043 and $0.0000041.

Sideways: the range between $0.0000045 and $0.00000496

If support holds, thin volume points to a sideways phase between $0.0000045 and the pre-hack level of $0.00000496. In this scenario withdrawals into self-custody roughly offset sales, and the price follows the broader market. The US midterm elections take place on Tuesday; moves in the evening and overnight are therefore more likely to come from Bitcoin than from SHIB itself.

Upside: 200-day line at $0.00000517, 50-day line at $0.00000532

A real recovery only begins above $0.00000496, the level before the attack. The next hurdle is the 200-day average at $0.00000517, and above it the 50-day average at $0.00000532. The 200-day average is the mean of the closing prices over that period and is regarded as a gauge of the long-term trend; the fact that the shorter 50-day average still sits above it shows how quickly the price fell in October. U.Today sees the zone from $0.0000050 to $0.0000052 as the area from which the short-term picture would improve. To get there SHIB would have to gain 13 to 16 percent.

Withdrawing SHIB from Binance: custody, holding period and tax in Germany

If you send your SHIB from Binance to your own wallet after the reopening, this does not trigger tax in Germany. A transfer between your own accounts and wallets is not a sale, and the one-year holding period under Section 23 of the German Income Tax Act keeps running. It is important to record the acquisition date and purchase price of every tranche, because the tax office counts multiple purchases in the order in which they were acquired. A crypto tax tool handles this allocation across several exchanges and wallets.

If you sell SHIB at a profit within a year, the gain remains tax-free as long as all private disposal gains of the year together stay below the exemption limit of €1,000. Losses from October can be offset against gains from other private disposals in the same year. The status of the planned reform of the holding period is summarised on our page on the crypto holding period reform.

For custody itself, after the largest exchange theft in the industry, a simple trade-off applies. On an exchange the tokens are ready to trade, but access depends on the platform operating. In a hardware wallet access lies with you, but you bear responsibility for the recovery phrase. SHIB is an ERC-20 token, so when withdrawing you select the Ethereum network and need an Ethereum address. Before confirming, check the selected network and the displayed fee in the withdrawal screen.

Our view: the Binance reopening is an operational matter, not a price driver for SHIB

In the newsroom's view, the reopening changes little in the picture for Shiba Inu. The Dogecoin precedent supports this, as DOGE fell no more than the market after its reopening on Sunday. Volume supports it too: $42.8 million a day is little for a coin with a market value of $2.69 billion, and neither buyers nor sellers are currently pushing hard into the market. Against this view stands the fact that SHIB was stuck at Binance for five days, and its holders may have been waiting for exactly this moment. If exchange reserves show a clear inflow in the coming days, that would be a warning sign for the $0.0000045 level.

The situation remains a downtrend: SHIB is below both the 50-day and the 200-day average and 20 percent below its level at the end of September, when SHIB still cost $0.00000575. Anyone betting on a trend reversal should first see a daily close above $0.00000496. Anyone trading perpetual futures with leverage on a price that has lost a fifth within 30 days has to reckon with swings that can quickly wipe out a highly leveraged position. A liquidation occurs when the posted collateral no longer covers the loss on the position; the exchange then closes the position automatically. Crypto investments can lead to a total loss.

SHIB after the Binance reopening: below $0.0000045 the picture tips

  1. Review your holdings and choose a venue: if your SHIB is still on Binance, decide whether you want to trade there or withdraw. Spreads and fees vary considerably between providers; a comparison of crypto exchanges shows the terms.
  2. Decide on custody: for SHIB you plan to hold longer, a wallet of your own is an option. Which devices support ERC-20 tokens is listed in the hardware wallet comparison.
  3. Keep your purchase records: before every transfer, note the purchase date and price so that the one-year holding period remains verifiable. A crypto tax tool brings together the data from exchange and wallet.
