Ownership and Funding

Whoever funds a publication can potentially influence it. That is why we disclose who owns CryptoTicker and how we earn money.

Ownership

CryptoTicker is published by Cryptoticker.io GmbH, based in Berlin, Germany, registered at the Charlottenburg district court under HRB 236931 B. The Managing Director is Dennis Weidner. The company is self-funded: it is backed by Dennis Weidner and his holding company Weidner Ventures, which together hold 100 percent of the shares. It is not owned by an exchange, a broker, a token project or a crypto fund.

How we earn money

  • Affiliate partnerships. If you click a partner link and open an account or buy a product there, we may receive a commission. This does not cost you anything extra.
  • Display advertising in individual placements.
  • Labelled collaborations — articles marked as advertisement or sponsored.

What commission does not influence

A commission changes neither the rating nor the placement of a provider. The order in our comparisons follows the editorial score alone. You can verify that this is not merely a claim: in several comparisons, providers with a partner link rank below providers without one — and individual partners carry an explicitly poor score with us, for instance for weak cost transparency.

Labelling

Partner links are recognisable as such in the text and technically run through a dedicated redirect that is blocked for search engines. On comparison pages we disclose monetisation in the page header or the notice block.

No unlabelled paid coverage

We do not sell editorial coverage. We decline requests for unlabelled advertorials, for the removal of critical passages in return for payment, or for placing unlabelled links. See Ethics and Independence.

Dennis Weidner

Dennis Weidner is managing director of Cryptoticker.io GmbH in Berlin and runs the editorial operation behind CryptoTicker, published since 2017 in German, English, French and Spanish. A founder and investor, he has worked with digital business models for more than twenty years. His writing focuses on the point where regulation meets what investors actually do: MiCA authorisation of trading venues, taxation and DAC8, self-custody and staking. He works from verifiable primary sources rather than price speculation — supervisory registers, vendor post-mortems, original specifications. His articles are analysis, not investment advice.
