Shiba Inu price after the US jobs report: SHIB holds above $0.0000045

Analysis: the US labor market adds 165,000 jobs, Bitcoin briefly slips 1.1 percent, and SHIB barely moves. What is behind the calm, where the key levels sit and what now applies to purchases from November 2025.

Shiba Inu trades at around $0.0000046 on Friday evening, November 6, 2026, or roughly €0.00000412. CoinGecko shows a 24-hour gain of 1.2 percent, with a daily range from $0.00000446 to $0.00000462. What is documented: the US jobs report for October came in almost three times stronger than expected at 165,000 new jobs, and SHIB got through the 8:30 am ET release without any notable price loss. Our assessment follows further down: the meme token's composure is more a sign of thin participation than of new strength.

For comparison, Bitcoin briefly fell 1.1 percent after the data and stands at around $75,600 in the evening, down 1.3 percent over 24 hours. Below you will find the report's figures, how both coins reacted hour by hour, the state of the derivatives market, the levels above and below the price, and two points investors in Germany can settle today: the one-year deadline for purchases from November 2025 and protecting the smartphone that holds the wallet.

Shiba Inu price on Friday evening: $0.0000046 after the jobs report

SHIB started the day at a low level. At midnight UTC the token stood at $0.00000451 according to CoinGecko; by the morning it had climbed above $0.0000046 and then traded in a narrow band. Market capitalization is around $2.71 billion, enough for 36th place among all cryptocurrencies. Over seven days it is down 3.0 percent, over 30 days down 14.5 percent.

Volume stands out. Within 24 hours, SHIB worth around $56.7 million changed hands. Measured against market value, that is 2.1 percent. For a day with the most important US data release of the week, that is little: the token turned over only a good one fiftieth of its market value. The gap to the all-time high of $0.00008616 from October 27, 2021 is still just under 95 percent.

US jobs report: 165,000 new jobs instead of around 60,000 expected

At 8:30 am local time, 2:30 pm in Germany, the US Department of Labor released the employment report for October. Nonfarm payrolls rose by 165,000. Depending on the survey, economists had expected 59,000 to 65,000 new jobs. The unemployment rate fell to 4.1 percent against an expected 4.2 percent. The next report, for November, is scheduled for Friday, December 4, 2026.

For cryptocurrencies, what matters in this report is less the economy than the rate question. A strong labor market gives the Federal Reserve little reason to cut rates quickly. Higher rates for longer make safe assets such as Treasuries more attractive and raise the cost of the credit traders use to lever up positions in derivatives markets. Risk assets typically come under pressure on such days, and meme tokens sit at the very top of the risk scale.

That pressure is exactly what SHIB avoided on Friday. Part of the explanation lies in the previous day's price action: on Thursday the token had already fallen to its lowest level since August, and the unwinding of leveraged long positions had begun before the release.

The reaction at 2:30 pm: SHIB almost unchanged, Bitcoin down 1.1 percent

CoinGecko's hourly data shows the difference clearly. Bitcoin stood at around $75,970 at 2:00 pm German time and fell to about $75,100 shortly after 4:00 pm, a decline of 1.1 percent. Only in the early evening did the largest cryptocurrency recover part of that.

In the same window SHIB moved from $0.00000457 to $0.00000456, or around 0.2 percent. By the evening, at $0.0000046, the token was even slightly above its level before the release. On the day, that reverses a pattern that held almost without exception in recent weeks: SHIB fell harder than Bitcoin when the broader market declined and rose less when it gained.

Since November 4: the $0.0000045 zone has held twice

On Wednesday evening we assessed the Shiba Inu price after exchange inflows at $0.00000473 and described the zone around $0.0000045 as the key support. Since then SHIB has lost 2.7 percent. The zone was tested twice in that period.

The first test came on Thursday evening, when the sell-off on the Nasdaq spilled over into crypto. According to our data from the Friday morning forecast, SHIB briefly slipped to $0.00000437 but closed the day above the zone again. The second test followed overnight into Friday, with a daily low of $0.00000446. Both times the price turned higher without a daily close below the zone.

Two things are new since then. First, the derivatives market has calmed down: the surplus of long accounts has shrunk, but total open positions have not. Second, the week's most important event, the jobs report, has passed without SHIB falling below the zone. That does not make the level invulnerable, but it gives it more weight than three days ago.

Long accounts still dominate SHIB derivatives, but their lead has shrunk since the start of the week.

OKX derivatives in the evening: long ratio at 2.14, open positions unchanged

The long-short ratio counts how many accounts on an exchange are betting on rising prices relative to those betting on falling ones. On the derivatives exchange OKX, the value for SHIB stood at 2.14 at 5:00 pm German time on Friday. It was 2.29 the evening before at 10:00 pm, and 2.15 on Friday morning. The report itself changed almost nothing: at 2:00 pm the ratio was 2.13, an hour later 2.15.

Open interest, the total value of all open futures contracts, is around $6.68 million in the SHIB perpetual against Tether on OKX. In the morning it was $6.7 million. Traders have therefore neither opened new positions on a larger scale nor closed existing ones. On our open interest page you can follow the figures for the major coins through the day.

SHIB funding rate: a leveraged long costs around 0.03 percent a day

The funding rate is a payment between the long and short sides that the exchange uses to keep the price of the perpetual contract close to the spot price. When it is positive, long positions pay short positions. On OKX it stood at 0.01 percent per settlement for SHIB on Friday, with settlement every eight hours. That adds up to around 0.03 percent a day, based on the full position value.

For a long with ten times leverage, that means holding the position costs around 0.3 percent a day relative to the posted collateral, or almost 9 percent over a month, as long as the rate stays at this level. The 0.01 percent is OKX's default value and therefore shows no overheating. What it does show is that even after the drop in the long ratio, nobody has to pay the short side for its risk. Current rates for all major coins are on our funding rates page.

If you want to trade SHIB with leverage, compare providers' fees and settlement intervals first. Our comparison of the best perp DEXs shows where funding payments work differently from the large centralized exchanges. With leveraged products, a total loss of the posted collateral is possible at any time.

SHIB levels: 200-day line at $0.00000515 and 50-day line at $0.00000529

Three moving averages stand in the way on the upside, calculated from CoinGecko's daily closing prices. The 20-day line runs at $0.00000485, the first hurdle a good 5 percent above the current price. Above it come the 200-day line at $0.00000515 and the 50-day line at $0.00000529. The shorter 50-day line is still above the long 200-day line, while the price is below all three.

On the downside, the zone around $0.0000045 is the first support, with Thursday's low of $0.00000437 below it. Based on daily closes, the August low on August 13 was $0.00000439, almost at the same level. If this area gives way, the year's low of $0.00000411 from July 17 becomes the next reference point. From today's level that would be around 11 percent away.

One-year deadline for SHIB: November 2025 purchases are around 49 percent under water

For investors in Germany, a deadline matters more this weekend than any price level. On November 7, 2025, SHIB cost around $0.00000901 according to CoinGecko, and on November 11, 2025, the token reached its twelve-month high of $0.00001015. Anyone who bought then is 49 to 55 percent in the red today, and for those purchases the one-year holding period under Section 23 of the German Income Tax Act ends in the coming days.

The deadline cuts both ways. Gains on coins held for more than a year are tax-free in Germany. Losses on such coins, however, no longer count for tax purposes either. If you sell at a loss within the period, you can offset that loss against gains from other private disposals in the same year or carry it forward to later years. Gains are also subject to an exemption threshold of €1,000 a year; exceed it by even one euro and the entire gain becomes taxable.

Whether a sale before the deadline makes sense therefore depends on whether you have gains from other coins this year that a loss could offset. If you made many purchases at different times, a tax tool shows the deadline per purchase fastest; our comparison of crypto tax software shows which providers flag the deadlines automatically. We track the state of the politically debated abolition of the holding period on our page on the holding period reform. None of this replaces tax advice.

DarkSword iPhone exploit: SHIB community recalls the iOS update

On Friday a warning about DarkSword, an attack tool for iPhones, spread through the Shiba Inu community. The vulnerability is not new. Google's threat intelligence unit described it in March 2026 together with the security firms Lookout and iVerify, as BleepingComputer reports. iPhones running iOS 18.4 to 18.7 are affected. The tool exploits six vulnerabilities; simply visiting a booby-trapped website can be enough.

For crypto investors, one part of the malware is particularly relevant. According to the report, the module named GHOSTBLADE collects data from wallet and exchange apps, among other things. Apple says it has already closed the holes; anyone who has installed the latest version of their iOS branch is protected.

If you keep SHIB or other coins in a wallet app on your iPhone, check the installed iOS version under Settings, General, About and install any pending updates. Apple's Lockdown Mode also blocks the attack. Larger holdings should not sit permanently on a device that is online every day anyway; a hardware wallet keeps private keys away from the smartphone.

Editorial assessment: the calm after the jobs report has little behind it

Our assessment: SHIB came through Friday better than Bitcoin, but a trend reversal cannot be read from that yet. In its favor, the zone around $0.0000045 held twice within three days and the week's key macro event has passed without damage. Against it are three points, all documented: daily volume of $56.7 million equals only 2.1 percent of market value, open interest on OKX has barely moved at $6.68 million, and the price is below the 20-, 50- and 200-day lines.

Low volume with a stable price usually means neither buyers nor sellers are pushing. On a day like this, SHIB's relative strength against Bitcoin is more likely due to the fact that after Thursday there was little left to sell. A durable recovery would need rising volume and a close above the 20-day line at $0.00000485. Both are missing on Friday evening. A price below $0.00000437, by contrast, would refute the reading of a stable floor.

Shiba Inu price: only above $0.00000515 does the picture turn

On Friday evening SHIB stands at $0.0000046, above the zone that has held since the start of the week. The downtrend of the past 30 days, however, is only broken once the price reclaims the 200-day line at $0.00000515. Three steps you can take today:

  1. Check how you buy: If you want to add SHIB or stagger an entry, watch the spreads at such small prices and look for a MiCA license. Our comparison of the best crypto exchanges shows fees and licensing status.
  2. Secure your storage: Check your iOS version, install updates and move larger holdings off the exchange and the smartphone into your own wallet. Devices that support SHIB are listed in our hardware wallet comparison.
  3. Clarify deadlines: For purchases from November 2025, decide before the one-year period ends whether you need a loss to offset. A tool from our comparison of crypto tax software shows the status per purchase.
