OKX Review: A Rising Star in the European Crypto Space
Founded in 2017, OKX is now one of the world’s largest crypto exchanges. With its European headquarters in Malta and an official license under MiCA, OKX is fully regulated across the EU. This means millions of Europeans can legally and securely access crypto — all through a platform that truly delivers. A full breakdown by region and fee tier is in our overview of OKX fees.
Our OKX review covers fees, the MiCA licence of OKX Europe, the proof of reserves and the current welcome bonus.
But regulation isn’t the only reason OKX is gaining traction. The platform also boasts some of the lowest fees in the industry, free EUR bank transfers, and a wide range of beginner-friendly tools that make getting started with crypto easier than ever.

Whether you're looking to make your first Bitcoin purchase or grow your portfolio with passive income options, this OKX crypto review will guide you through everything you need to know — including how to claim the OKX welcome rewards of up to €400.
Why Choose OKX? Key Benefits for European Users
✅ Lowest Spot Trading Fees

For EU users, lower fees may apply based on high trading volume or asset value held with OKX. Full fee details are available here.
✅ Free Deposits & Withdrawals via Bank Transfer
European users can deposit and withdraw euros via SEPA bank transfers with zero fees. No hidden charges, no third-party banking layers — just fast, free transfers between your bank and OKX. Alternatively, you can also use PayPal.

OKX review 2026: welcome bonus, fees and safety
Update, November 7, 2026: New users in the EEA now sign up with the OKX referral code 45934865, which our link fills in for you. OKX advertises up to €400 in rewards, paid as vouchers for X-Perps, its perpetual futures product in Europe, for six tasks.
| Task on OKX | Reward |
|---|---|
| Verify your identity | €50 X-Perps voucher |
| Deposit at least €100 | €50 X-Perps voucher |
| Trade at least €1 | €50 X-Perps voucher |
| Trade at least €1,000 | €50 X-Perps voucher |
| Trade at least €10,000 | €100 X-Perps voucher |
| Trade at least €50,000 | €100 X-Perps voucher |
Source: OKX referral page for code 45934865, read on November 7, 2026. OKX can vary the amounts by user, so the exact rewards for your account appear under Rewards, Welcome Rewards after you sign up, and trades on zero-fee pairs such as USDC/EUR do not count towards the tasks, according to the OKX terms for the new user bonus (last updated September 9, 2026). The terms on OKX's page are authoritative; perpetual futures carry a high risk of loss, so treat the vouchers as a bonus for trading you would do anyway. All current OKX offers with their terms are collected on our OKX promo code and referral code page, and you can open the sign-up directly via OKX Europe.
Is OKX safe and legit? Licence, proof of reserves and security features
OKX Europe Limited in Malta holds a MiCA licence since January 27, 2025, listed in the ESMA register, so the OKX exchange serves EU customers as a supervised crypto asset service provider. OKX also publishes proof of reserves reports for user funds: according to its proof of reserves page, the 49th report from October 2026 showed $33.87 billion across 21 assets, $27.82 billion of it in BTC, ETH, USDT and USDC, and OKX has verified user balances with a Merkle tree and zk-STARK proofs since February 2023. On top of that comes OKX Shield: according to OKX, eligible losses from unauthorised account access are reimbursed up to €500,000, with limits by user tier, at no extra cost once you complete identity verification and turn on passkeys and withdrawal security.
In the United States, the operator of OKX pleaded guilty in February 2025 in New York to operating an unlicensed money transmitting business and agreed to penalties of more than $504 million, according to the US Department of Justice. The case concerned US customers between 2018 and early 2024; customers in the EU are served by OKX Europe Limited under its MiCA licence from Malta.
A short security checklist for your OKX account before you deposit larger amounts:
- Turn on two-factor authentication or passkeys and withdrawal security, which also activates OKX Shield.
- Only log in through the official OKX website or app, and never share codes with supposed support staff.
- Keep long-term holdings in a self-custody wallet or a hardware wallet rather than on any exchange.
Spot trading fees on OKX start at 0.10 percent for takers, as described above. How OKX scores on fees, security and support against other exchanges is in our full OKX review, and the head-to-head comparisons OKX vs Binance and Kraken vs OKX show where each exchange is ahead.
Bonus: OKX welcome rewards with the CryptoTicker referral link
When you buy your first Bitcoin or start earning crypto passively, you can unlock the OKX welcome rewards through our CryptoTicker referral link: up to €400 in X-Perps vouchers for new users in the EEA, with the referral code 45934865 filled in for you.
The six tasks and their rewards are listed in the table above, as of November 7, 2026. Once a task is completed, the reward appears in your account under Rewards, Welcome Rewards. OKX can vary the amounts by user, and the terms on OKX's page are authoritative. All current OKX offers are collected on our OKX promo code and referral code page.
