Bitcoin Cash price drops 7.4 percent to $264, its lowest level since September 21
Bitcoin Cash has fallen to around $264, its lowest level since September 21, and is now holding only the 100-day line at $261. The decline follows a sell-off across the entire crypto market, amplified by liquidations of more than $1 billion.

The Bitcoin Cash price fell to around $264 on Friday morning. That is 7.4 percent lower than 24 hours earlier and the lowest daily level since September 21. BCH now sits just three dollars above its 100-day line at around $261, the last of the three widely watched moving averages the coin has not yet broken. There is no trigger specific to Bitcoin Cash: the decline follows a broad sell-off across the crypto market, although BCH gave up more ground than Bitcoin.
For investors, the question is therefore less about news from the project and more about their own risk. Anyone trading with leverage needs to know their liquidation price. Anyone holding BCH on an exchange should know how long the coins have been there, because in Germany the tax on a sale depends on it. And anyone looking to buy more now needs a plan with price levels, not just a cheap moment.
cryptoticker.io compiled this analysis itself on November 6, 2026. It is based on the daily closing prices of Bitcoin Cash over the past 365 days and the 24-hour changes of the 25 largest cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation on CoinGecko.
Bitcoin Cash price today: $264 and down 10 percent in a week
The figures of recent days show that Friday's slump caps a losing streak. On October 31, Bitcoin Cash still closed at just under $294. Since then it has gone down almost every day: $285 on November 1, $276 on November 3, $274 on November 4. A brief rise to just under $282 on November 5 did not last a day.
| Period | BCH change | Starting value |
|---|---|---|
| 24 hours | minus 7.4 percent | around $285 |
| 7 days | minus 10.1 percent | $293.80 (Oct 31) |
| 30 days | minus 12.0 percent | $300.10 (Oct 8) |
| 90 days | plus 22.3 percent | $216.00 (Aug 9) |
| 365 days | minus 44.1 percent | $472.50 |
The table shows two sides of the same coin. In the short term BCH is clearly under pressure, yet over three months the coin is still up by a good fifth. The reason is the late-summer rally: on August 19, Bitcoin Cash traded at around $204, and on September 23 at almost $345. The price has since given back around 23 percent from that high. It remains almost 60 percent below the January 4 high of just under $655.
Trading volume stands out. Around $227 million worth of BCH changed hands over the past 24 hours, against a 30-day average of around $165 million. The increase of a good third shows that genuine selling pressure is behind the decline. Market capitalisation stands at around $5.3 billion.
Crypto market sell-off: the Nasdaq slide drags Bitcoin Cash down
The decline in Bitcoin Cash is part of a move that has gripped the entire market. Among the 25 largest cryptocurrencies, only a single token outside the stablecoins was in positive territory on Friday morning. Bitcoin lost 5.9 percent in 24 hours and fell to around $75,650, Ether dropped 7.6 percent and XRP as much as 9.9 percent. At minus 7.4 percent, Bitcoin Cash was mid-table, but clearly weaker than the largest cryptocurrency.
Trade media point above all to the situation on US equity markets. According to FXStreet, the tech-heavy Nasdaq fell around 5 percent on Thursday, driven by selling in AI stocks. The total value of the crypto market accordingly dropped 4.5 percent to $2.71 trillion. The portal TokenPost also points to the outcome of the US midterm elections, in which the Democrats won both chambers of Congress. Traders have since been expecting stricter rules for crypto and AI.
Crypto.news additionally cites outflows from spot Bitcoin ETFs and weaker demand from institutional investors since the attack on Binance on October 29. cryptoticker.io described the situation for Bitcoin itself ahead of the US jobs report in a separate Bitcoin price analysis on Friday morning.

Liquidations of more than $1 billion deepen the slide
A liquidation is the forced sale of a leveraged position by the exchange as soon as the posted collateral no longer covers the losses. Precisely such forced sales accelerated the decline. According to TokenPost, positions worth $1.03 billion were forcibly closed within 24 hours, affecting 198,192 traders. In just four hours the figure was almost $880 million, of which around $819 million came from long positions, in other words bets on rising prices. The portal Cryptowisser puts the total at around $1.25 billion. Depending on the source, the sum therefore lies between $1.03 billion and $1.25 billion.
The pattern is familiar. When the price falls below a threshold where many long positions have their liquidation level, exchanges sell automatically. These sales push the price down further and trigger the next liquidations. With altcoins such as Bitcoin Cash this effect is often stronger, because order books are thinner than for Bitcoin.
This matters particularly for BCH because the coin's derivatives market is large. As cryptoticker.io counted on October 28, all 81 futures contracts on Bitcoin Cash at the major trading venues are perpetuals, meaning open-ended contracts without an expiry date that are typically traded with leverage.
Find an exchange for your Bitcoin CashBCH below the 200-day line: only the 100-day line still holds
A moving average is the mean of closing prices over a fixed number of days. Many traders use it as a guide: if the price is above it, the trend is considered intact, if below, damaged. For Bitcoin Cash the picture on November 6 is as follows:
- 50-day line at around $290: the price is about 9 percent below it. The short-term trend is therefore broken.
- 200-day line at around $280: BCH briefly slipped below this level on October 29, as cryptoticker.io described at the time in an analysis of the 200-day line. The price is now around 6 percent below it.
- 100-day line at around $261: this is the only one of the three lines Bitcoin Cash still trades above, by a margin of just over one percent.
The fact that the 100-day line sits lower than the 200-day line is a legacy of the summer. In June and July BCH at times traded below $200, and on June 25 the coin marked its low for the year at around $190. These low prices pull the 100-day average down. Should Bitcoin Cash close below $261, the entire recovery since August would be wiped out in the moving averages.
Bitcoin Cash levels: $261 to the downside, $280 to the upside
The closing prices of recent months reveal several zones where the price has recently reacted. These zones are not a forecast, but they help you place an order or a stop sensibly.
Levels to the downside
The first support is the 100-day line at around $261. Below that comes the September 21 low at just under $253, the last time BCH closed lower than today. Should that level also break, the next zone only lies in the area of the August lows around $204 to $216.
Levels to the upside
To the upside, Bitcoin Cash first has to reclaim the 200-day line at around $280. Above that lies the 50-day line at around $290, and just beyond it the $294 to $300 area where the price stood at the end and the beginning of October. Only above these levels would last week's decline be erased.
If you want to bet on a rebound, you should do so through a regulated provider. Which platforms offer BCH and what they cost is shown in our comparison of the best crypto exchanges.
Leverage and liquidation: at 10x leverage a 10 percent drop is enough
Anyone trading Bitcoin Cash via perpetuals or futures should first know their own liquidation price after a day like this. With 10x leverage, a decline of just under 10 percent is mathematically enough to lose the entire collateral; with 5x leverage it is just under 20 percent. The weekly loss of 10 percent would therefore already have wiped out a position with tenfold leverage.
A fixed stop below one of the levels mentioned limits the loss before the exchange liquidates. It is also worth looking at the funding rate, the fee that flows regularly between the long and short sides of perpetuals. If it rises sharply again after a decline, many traders are rebuilding leveraged long positions, and the risk of another wave of liquidations grows. If you want to look at the differences between decentralised trading venues for perpetuals, you will find them in the comparison of the best perp DEXs at the end of this article.

Compare perp DEXs for leveraged tradingHolding period and tax: Germany's one-year rule still applies to BCH sales
Anyone wanting to sell after the decline should first check their own purchase history. Under current German law, gains from selling cryptocurrencies are treated as a private disposal under Section 23 of the Income Tax Act and are tax-free if more than one year passes between purchase and sale. Within this holding period, gains are taxable as long as all private disposal gains in a year together reach the exemption limit of 1,000 euros. The federal government wants to abolish the holding period and has tabled a draft bill; it is not yet law, and the CDU/CSU bloc in the Bundestag opposes the plans.
Right after a price drop, the question is also interesting the other way round. Losses from sales within the holding period can be offset against gains from other private disposals in the same year. Anyone who bought BCH in late summer at around $300 and now sells at a loss can therefore set that loss against gains from other coins. What matters is complete documentation with purchase date, quantity and price.
Buying and storing Bitcoin Cash: MiCA licence and your own wallet
If you want to use the decline to buy more, pay attention to the provider. Since the end of the transition period, exchanges and brokers offering crypto assets in Germany need a licence under the EU's MiCA regulation. MiCA stands for Markets in Crypto-Assets and governs capital requirements, custody and disclosure obligations, among other things. Whether a provider is licensed can be checked in the register of the European Securities and Markets Authority, ESMA. You will find an overview of licensed providers in our comparison of the best regulated crypto exchanges.
For a longer holding period there is a strong case for not leaving the coins on the exchange. The attack on Binance at the end of October showed that even large trading venues are vulnerable. A hardware wallet stores the private keys offline, so an attack on an exchange cannot reach your holdings. Which devices support Bitcoin Cash is shown in the hardware wallet comparison linked in the last step below.
Bitcoin Cash outlook: jobs report and equity markets will decide
There is no event of its own scheduled that could move the Bitcoin Cash price in the coming days. The environment remains decisive. The US jobs report is due on Friday afternoon European time and may shift expectations for the Federal Reserve's interest rate policy. Equally important is whether US tech stocks stabilise after Thursday's decline. As long as Bitcoin is under pressure, experience shows that altcoins such as BCH struggle to decouple from the market.
For a bull case, Bitcoin Cash would have to defend the 100-day line at $261 and then climb back above the 200-day line at $280. The bear case would be a daily close below $261 and subsequently below the September low of $253. The $204 to $216 range from August would then come back into view.
Bitcoin Cash: below $261 the summer recovery is wiped out
- Set your levels: decide at what price you will buy more or sell, for example at the 100-day line at $261 or at the September low of $253. Where you can trade BCH and at what fees is shown in the exchange comparison.
- Limit leverage: check the liquidation price on open perpetuals and set a stop above it. The overview of the best perp DEXs compares the terms of the trading venues.
- Secure your holdings: note the purchase dates of your BCH for the holding period and move coins you hold for longer to your own wallet. Suitable devices can be found in the hardware wallet comparison.
