The best crypto to buy now, for November 2026: our watchlist leads with $Bitcoin and $Ethereum, followed by Hyperliquid, XRP and Zcash. Bitcoin and Ether are on the list because October showed how much size protects in a falling market. Hyperliquid, XRP and Zcash each have a concrete event in the coming weeks that the market has not fully priced in. Prices and data are from October 29, 2026.

This page has a fixed address and is updated at the start of every month. Instead of a new article each month, you find the current list here, together with how the previous list performed. That makes it easy to judge our picks by results, not by headlines.

The November 2026 list in brief

  • Bitcoin: $78,392, lost the least of all large coins in October, 60.3 percent market dominance
  • Ethereum: $2,236, down 16.9 percent in 30 days, almost three times as much as Bitcoin
  • Hyperliquid: $90.92, up 5.7 percent in 30 days while the market fell, regulated US market with ICE announced
  • XRP: $1.23, Ripple received final approval for its national trust bank on October 26
  • Zcash: $1,230.91, network upgrade NU7 expected in the first half of November
  • October list (Ethereum, Solana, Chainlink, Sui, Aave): average minus 20.1 percent, Bitcoin minus 8.8 percent

The table shows the five coins with their price on October 29, 2026, their performance over 30 and 90 days and the main reason for and against each of them.

1. Bitcoin (BTC): why the largest coin leads the list

October was a lesson in how much size matters. From October 1 to October 29 Bitcoin lost 6.2 percent, from $83,576 to $78,392. According to our October comparison, that was the smallest loss among the seven largest tradable coins; Cardano lost more than four times as much. Bitcoin now accounts for 60.3 percent of the entire crypto market.

What decides November: the Fed held rates on October 28 with two votes for a hike, and Bitcoin options worth about $11 billion expire on October 30. Bitcoin trades 37.8 percent below its all-time high of $126,080. For a view beyond the next weeks, see our Bitcoin price prediction.

2. Ethereum (ETH): the large coin with the biggest discount

Ether fell 16.9 percent in 30 days to $2,236, almost three times as much as Bitcoin. One Ether now buys only 0.0285 Bitcoin, a level our ETH/BTC analysis places in context. For a watchlist this is the interesting part: Ethereum remains the second-largest crypto by far, with spot ETFs in the US and the largest base of applications.

The risk is the trend itself. As long as the ratio to Bitcoin keeps falling, Ether underperforms even when the market recovers. The Ethereum price prediction lays out the scenarios.

3. Hyperliquid (HYPE): the strongest large coin of October

Among the nine largest cryptocurrencies without stablecoins, Hyperliquid is the only one that gained over the past 30 days, up 5.7 percent while Bitcoin lost 6.2 percent. On October 29 it rose another 12.8 percent: Intercontinental Exchange, the owner of the New York Stock Exchange, is investing in the trading venue trade[XYZ] and wants to build a regulated US market for perpetual futures whose order execution runs on the Hyperliquid blockchain.

The risk: the plan needs approval from the US derivatives regulator CFTC, and there is no start date yet. After a 72.2 percent gain in 90 days, a lot of good news is already in the price. Not every European exchange lists HYPE, so check availability before you plan a purchase.

4. XRP: the gap between news and price

Ripple had the best regulatory week in its history: on October 26 the US Office of the Comptroller of the Currency gave final approval to Ripple National Trust Bank, BNY added XRP and the stablecoin RLUSD to its custody platform, and Moody's gave RLUSD an investment-grade rating. XRP still fell 17.5 percent in 30 days to $1.23. Our article on what the trust bank may do explains why the licence helps Ripple more directly than the token.

That gap is the reason XRP is on the list: if the market starts pricing in the institutional progress, the move can be quick. If not, XRP stays a coin with good news and a weak chart. The XRP price prediction shows the levels that matter.

5. Zcash (ZEC): an upgrade with a fixed block height

Zcash activates its next network upgrade at block 3,543,405. On October 28 the chain stood at block 3,533,105, which at the current 75 seconds per block points to the first half of November. NU7 cuts the block time from 75 to 25 seconds and makes old version 4 transactions invalid; holders with outdated wallets or coins in the old Sprout pool should act beforehand, as our NU7 explainer describes.

The risk: Zcash has already gained 169 percent in 90 days, so the upgrade may be largely priced in. And from July 2027 the EU anti-money-laundering regulation prohibits regulated crypto providers from offering accounts that allow anonymity, including through anonymity-enhancing coins, which can affect where Zcash remains tradable in Europe.

How the October 2026 picks performed

Every list on this page gets checked a month later. The October list from October 5 named five altcoins. Four of the five fell further than Bitcoin:

CoinPrice October 5Price October 29Change
Chainlink (LINK)$11.40$11.02-3.3%
Ethereum (ETH)$2,720$2,236-17.8%
Solana (SOL)$121$96.28-20.4%
Sui (SUI)$1.23$0.87-29.1%
Aave (AAVE)$180$126.15-29.9%
Bitcoin, for comparisonabout $86,000$78,392-8.8%

On average the October picks lost 20.1 percent, more than twice as much as Bitcoin. Chainlink held best, close to its starting price. The lesson for November is built into the new list: in a market driven by interest rates and leverage, the two largest coins come first, and smaller coins only make the list with a dated event of their own.

How we choose the best crypto to buy now

Every coin on the list has to pass five checks. They follow the criteria in our guide on which cryptocurrency to buy:

  • Size: a market value of at least $2 billion, so that buying and selling works without large price jumps.
  • Strength relative to Bitcoin: how the coin did over 30 and 90 days compared to the largest coin.
  • A dated event: an upgrade, an approval or a launch within the coming weeks, with a primary source.
  • Availability: tradable on regulated exchanges, with a check of the EU rules that apply.
  • A named risk: no coin makes the list without the main reason against it.

Stablecoins and coins without their own use are excluded. The list is a watchlist with reasons, not a promise of returns.

Where to buy the best crypto

All five coins trade on large exchanges, but not every exchange lists every coin, and fees differ considerably. Our crypto exchange comparison shows licences, fees and the coins on offer side by side. For readers in the EU, an exchange with a MiCA licence offers the strongest protection.

Risks before you buy crypto

Crypto prices can fall by half within months, and the October list shows how quickly even well-reasoned picks lose value. Only invest money you can leave untouched for years, spread purchases over time instead of buying all at once, and do not use borrowed money. When the market falls, our page on why crypto is down today explains the current trigger.

Next update: early December 2026. This list is market information, not investment advice.
