As of today, the XRP price is trading around $2.30–$2.40, showing modest movement compared to Bitcoin's explosive rally. Yet beneath the surface, XRP news is building a storm of catalysts that may push it to new highs.

In 2025, XRP has been at the centre of some of the most bullish developments in its history—but the market hasn’t fully reacted. Is this the calm before XRP’s next breakout? According to traders, institutions, and technical indicators, the answer might be yes.
XRP Price Prediction: Why Traders Are Betting on $3.50+
While XRP has remained in a narrow range recently, trading up 50% from its April low, analysts and traders on believe a retest of XRP’s all-time high ($3.35) is on the horizon. In fact, the probability of this happening by the end of 2025 has risen to 46%, up from 24% at the start of May.
Some are even more optimistic—XRP predictions suggest a possible rally to $3.50 or more, supported by rising leverage and open interest across futures markets, which has now surpassed $2.2 billion.
Key Bullish Catalysts in XRP News
1. Spot XRP ETF Approval Incoming?
The potential approval of spot XRP ETFs is perhaps the biggest catalyst for 2025. Odds of approval are now at 85%, with institutions like JPMorgan predicting $8 billion in first-year inflows once greenlit.
One leveraged ETF, XXRP, has already attracted $121 million in assets since its launch—even with a high 1.89% expense ratio.
2. Ripple’s Acquisition of Circle
Ripple Labs is reportedly in talks to acquire Circle, the issuer behind USD Coin (USDC). If successful, Ripple would become the second-largest stablecoin operator, significantly boosting its influence in the digital payments ecosystem and bringing new use cases to XRP Ledger.
3. Ripple’s Legal Victory and Strategic Expansion
With the SEC lawsuit finally resolved, Ripple is free to pursue new partnerships and acquisitions. While some regulatory resistance remains, notably from U.S. Senator Cynthia Lummis, Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse is pushing for deeper engagement and regulatory clarity.

XRP Trading Setup: Bullish Setup Still Intact
From a charting perspective, XRP remains above key technical levels:
- The token is holding steady above the 50-week EMA, acting as long-term support since November 2024.
- XRP is also holding above $1.97, the neckline of a massive cup-and-handle pattern formed between 2022 and 2024.
- A technical breakout from this structure would project an upside target of $3.72, slightly above its all-time high.

XRP Future: XRP Is a Delayed Reaction Play
Despite two of the most bullish developments in XRP history—ETF filings and Ripple’s legal win—the XRP price today has barely moved. But history shows that XRP often lags before making explosive moves.
With rising futures interest, growing ETF optimism, and major acquisition plans in motion, XRP remains one of the most undervalued major tokens right now. If Bitcoin consolidates and the ETF approval comes through, XRP could easily rally 40% or more, retesting and possibly breaking its $3.50+ target in 2025.
