Anthropic stock does not trade on an exchange yet, but the IPO is close: the company behind the AI assistant Claude filed its prospectus with the US Securities and Exchange Commission on 26 October 2026 and plans to list on Nasdaq under the ticker ANT. Investors in Europe and the UK have three routes: today the pre-IPO CFD at XTB, a subscription at the offer price, and from the first trading day the actual share. This page shows when each route opens, what it costs and which risks come with it. We will update it as soon as the price range is set.

Key facts at a glance

  • Ticker: ANT, Class A common stock on the Nasdaq Global Select Market, applied for in the prospectus of 2 November 2026.
  • Date: Anthropic has not named a date yet, XTB expects mid to late November 2026.
  • Price: The prospectus of 2 November does not yet include a price range or share count.
  • Before the IPO: pre-IPO CFD ANTH.24H7 at XTB, a contract for difference with no share ownership. 78% of retail investor accounts lose money when trading CFDs with this provider.
  • From the first trading day: the actual share at XTB, 0% commission up to the equivalent of €100,000 monthly turnover, 0.5% currency conversion.
  • Financials: $33.2 billion in revenue and a $1.26 billion operating loss in the first nine months of 2026.

Can you already buy Anthropic stock?

You can buy actual Anthropic stock once it is listed on Nasdaq. Until then it does not trade on the open market. If you want a position on the price now, a pre-IPO CFD is the route, and if you want the share in your account, you get that account ready.

The prospectus of 2 November says the same: Anthropic is applying to list its Class A common stock under the ticker ANT and states that there has been no public market for the stock before this offering. Any offer promising you actual Anthropic shares in advance therefore deserves a close look.

XTB covers two of these three routes: the pre-IPO CFD is already running, and according to XTB the actual share will also be tradable there after the IPO. Which XTB products are open to you depends on your country of residence, so check this in the app. XTB’s Anthropic information (ad) summarises the date and how to prepare. Anthropic IPO: date, ticker and price range

The Anthropic IPO does not have an official date yet. In its Anthropic information, XTB expects a Nasdaq listing in mid to late November, and CoinDesk reported 19 or 20 November as the expected pricing date. These are expectations, not statements from the prospectus.

The prospectus does not name a valuation yet. CoinDesk cited the Financial Times with an expectation of $1.5 trillion to $1.75 trillion. Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley lead the list of banks in the prospectus. How an IPO of this size works for retail investors is shown in our guide to SpaceX stock.

Subscribing to the Anthropic IPO: what investors in Europe and the UK should know

Anthropic plans its own offers for retail investors outside the United States. According to the US prospectus, the offering includes public offerings in Australia, Canada, certain member states of the European Economic Area, Japan, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. In the European Economic Area, shares will be offered through a separate prospectus that is expected to be approved by the German financial regulator BaFin. The US prospectus does not say which member states are included.

A report by EU Personal Finance of 3 November lists nine countries: Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain and Sweden. It names BNP Paribas, Crédit Agricole CIB, Deutsche Bank, eToro, flatexDEGIRO, Interactive Brokers, Nordnet, Revolut, Saxo Bank, Trade Republic and UBS as firms expected to take part. The list covers the countries as a group, so not every firm will be active in every country. XTB is not on it, so at XTB the first trading day is your starting point. Anthropic’s own IPO page for Europe showed no details on 3 November, and the minimum amount and offer period are still to come. A subscription does not guarantee an allocation, and the offer price can differ significantly from the first market price.

Anthropic pre-IPO: how the ANTH.24H7 CFD at XTB works

XTB’s pre-IPO CFD is a contract for difference based on a tokenised Anthropic share. It lets you take a position on the price before the IPO without becoming a shareholder. According to XTB it trades under the ticker ANTH.24H7 from Saturday 04:00 to Friday 23:00, subject to the applicable trading schedule.

The price of such a contract reflects what market participants estimate for a price that does not exist yet. How far these pre-market prices can drift apart is shown in our analysis of the ANTH perp on Hyperliquid: four markets, three different prices.

XTB risk warning: CFDs are complex instruments and come with a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage. 78% of retail investor accounts lose money when trading CFDs with this provider. You should consider whether you understand how CFDs work and whether you can afford to take the high risk of losing your money.

How to buy Anthropic stock at XTB: four steps to the first trading day

To buy on the first trading day you need an account that is fully set up, because identity verification has to be finished by then. These four steps get you ready.

  1. Open an account: Register for an account at XTB (ad), which according to XTB takes a few minutes. Our assessment of the provider is in our XTB review.
  2. Deposit funds: Add money to your account so that you are ready when trading starts.
  3. Find Anthropic in the search: When trading starts, XTB says you will find the share through the search in the app. Make sure you pick the share and not the ANTH.24H7 CFD.
  4. Set a limit: Prices often swing widely on the first trading day. With a limit order you set your maximum price yourself.

The main cost is the currency, because ANT trades in dollars. For one purchase and one sale of £1,000 each, the calculation at XTB looks like this:

Item on £1,000Cost
Commission on purchase, up to the equivalent of €100,000 monthly turnover£0
Currency conversion on purchase, 0.5%£5
Commission on sale£0
Currency conversion on sale, 0.5%£5
Total£10

Above the equivalent of €100,000 monthly turnover, XTB charges 0.2% commission, with a minimum of £10.

Anthropic financials: revenue and losses in the prospectus

Anthropic’s revenue grew roughly thirteenfold within a year, while the company still reports an operating loss. For the first nine months of 2026 the prospectus shows $33.242 billion, up from $2.545 billion in the same period a year earlier. The third quarter alone brought in $17.0 billion.

Bar chart: Anthropic revenue of $41 million in 2023, $386 million in 2024, $4.585 billion in 2025 and $33.242 billion from January to September 2026
Anthropic revenue according to the S-1/A prospectus of 2 November 2026, the fourth bar covers nine months.
PeriodRevenueOperating lossNet loss
2023$41 million$551 million$1.531 billion
2024$386 million$2.980 billion$8.309 billion
2025$4.585 billion$8.060 billion$41.965 billion
January to September 2026$33.242 billion$1.260 billion$104.039 billion

The headline figure of $104 billion in net loss is misleading: $94.324 billion of it comes from changes in the fair value of convertible notes, derivatives and SAFEs, which grow as the valuation rises. That is an accounting entry, not cash going out. The commitments carry more weight: Anthropic reports about $895.4 billion in committed spending, almost all of it for compute and infrastructure, including about $447.5 billion through the end of 2030.

A simple calculation puts this in context: annualised, the third quarter comes to $68 billion in revenue. At the $1.5 trillion to $1.75 trillion expected by the Financial Times, the valuation would be 22 to 26 times that figure. Further growth has to justify this premium, and the prospectus itself states that past growth rates say nothing about future results.

Anthropic stock: voting rights, dividends and lock-ups

A Class A share carries one vote, but shareholders do not decide the board majority with it. That majority is elected by the Long-Term Benefit Trust through a separate share class, Class T. Anthropic does not plan to pay a dividend for the foreseeable future and intends to put earnings back into the business.

Existing shareholders are subject to lock-ups of 180 and in some cases 365 days, which the prospectus combines with staggered earlier releases. Each release can increase the supply of shares on the market.

Claude stock: does it exist?

There is no separate Claude stock. Claude is the product, and the company going public is the one behind it, Anthropic PBC. If you are searching for Claude stock, you mean ANT.

If you would rather cover AI more broadly, XTB also names Alphabet, AMD and the L&G Artificial Intelligence UCITS ETF. Alphabet deserves a second look: according to the prospectus, Google is both a competitor of Anthropic and a supplier of compute.

Anthropic stock and tax: the UK and other countries

How gains on Anthropic stock are taxed depends on where you live, so check the rules of your country before you buy. In the UK, Capital Gains Tax applies to gains above the tax-free allowance of £3,000. The rates from 6 April 2026 are 18% within the basic Income Tax band and 24% above it.

You do not pay tax on income or capital gains from investments held in an ISA, so it is worth asking your provider whether ANT can be held in one. CFDs have their own tax treatment.
