Dogecoin price at $0.0737: large wallets have shed 120 million DOGE since Thursday

Analysis: the Dogecoin price has seen its 50-day line drop below the 200-day line, and addresses holding 10 to 100 million DOGE have sold around 120 million tokens since Thursday. What the signal meant last time, where the key levels sit and what to settle on tax and leverage now.

The Dogecoin price stood at $0.0737 on Monday evening, November 2, 2026, at around 9:45 p.m. German time, roughly €0.0658. That is the lowest close since mid-August. Two numbers explain why the pressure is building right now. The 50-day line has fallen below the 200-day line, a pattern chart analysts call a death cross. And addresses holding 10 to 100 million DOGE have sold around 120 million tokens since Thursday.

What is established: the moving averages crossed on Kraken daily closes on October 28, and the whale selling comes from Santiment's holdings data. Our assessment follows further down. We consider the signal more serious than the brief upswing in October, but not a verdict on the coming months.

For investors in Germany this is mainly a question of preparation. If you hold DOGE, you should know the purchase dates of your position, because they decide whether a loss counts in your 2026 tax return. If you want to buy more, you need levels that justify an entry rather than a feeling for where the bottom is.

Dogecoin death cross: the 50-day line sits below the 200-day line

A moving average is the mean of closing prices over a fixed number of days. The 50-day line shows the medium-term trend, the 200-day line the long-term one. When the shorter falls below the longer, technical analysts speak of a death cross. It says nothing about tomorrow's price. It only sums up that the past seven weeks were weaker than the past nine months.

According to our analysis of Kraken daily data, the 50-day line stood at $0.08657 on October 28, slipping just below the 200-day line at $0.08659 for the first time since early October. On Monday the two stood at $0.08567 and $0.08611. The gap is small but widens every day, because the weak October prices are now feeding into the 50-day line while the 200-day line still carries prices from the spring.

The price itself is well below both lines: $0.0737 is around 14 percent below the 50-day line. Analysts at KuCoin News give similar values for the exponentially weighted averages: $0.082 for 50 days, $0.083 for 100 days and $0.090 for 200 days. Dogecoin trades below all three.

Santiment data: wallets with 10 to 100 million DOGE sell, smaller ones buy

The second trigger lies in the blockchain itself. According to Santiment's supply distribution data, reported by KuCoin News on Monday morning, addresses holding 10 to 100 million DOGE have cut their holdings by around 120 million tokens since Thursday. At today's price that is roughly $8.8 million.

On the other side are smaller addresses. Wallets holding 100,000 to 1 million DOGE and 1 to 10 million DOGE together took in around 100 million tokens over the same period. The buying therefore does not fully offset the selling, leaving an overhang of about 20 million DOGE.

The scale matters. Just over 150 billion Dogecoin are in circulation, so 120 million is less than one per mille. The move will not tip the market, but it shows which side the larger holders are on right now. Whether the tokens were sold on exchanges or merely spread across other addresses cannot be read from the supply distribution alone.

Dogecoin price since November 1: the $0.0750 level is lost again

On Sunday morning Dogecoin stood at around $0.0755 when we reported on the resumption of Binance withdrawals. Since then the price has lost just over 2 percent. On Monday the daily range on Kraken ran from $0.0762 to $0.0731.

Dogecoin had only narrowly held the $0.0750 level on October 29 with a close of $0.0751, and on October 30 the daily low dropped to $0.0721. After that the price closed just above it three days in a row, between $0.0755 and $0.0759. On Monday that support was lost again. The target of $0.0695 named at the time has not been reached so far; this week's low of $0.0721 was almost 4 percent above it.

The last case: after the November 2025 death cross, DOGE fell almost by half

A look back shows why technical analysts take the pattern seriously, and why it is still not automatic. According to Kraken data, Dogecoin's last death cross formed on November 10, 2025, at a close of $0.1817. Thirty days later the price stood at $0.1433, 21 percent lower. After 60 days it was $0.1405, after 90 days $0.0966, or 47 percent below the day of the signal.

After that the price did not move in a straight line. After 180 days, in May 2026, Dogecoin was back above its February level at $0.1087. The price only reached its lowest point on July 23, 2026, with a daily low of $0.0673, and the lowest close on August 6 at $0.0690. More than eight months therefore passed between the signal and the bottom.

The difference from back then is the starting level. In November 2025 Dogecoin fell from a range around $0.18. Today the signal starts only just over 9 percent above the low for the year. The room to the downside, down to the summer bottom, is much smaller than a year ago.

Golden cross fizzled after 23 days: why the October signal did not hold

On October 5, 2026, the opposite pattern had formed. The 50-day line rose above the 200-day line, a so-called golden cross, at a close of $0.0954. It was also the highest close of the following three weeks. After 23 days the relationship flipped again.

The reason lies in the calculation itself. The 50-day line had risen in September mainly because the weak August days dropped out of it. New buyers did not follow in October. From the weekly candle that opened at $0.0945 on October 1, the price fell to $0.0737 by Monday, a drop of 22 percent. Only one of the five October weeks closed slightly positive on Kraken. KuCoin News, using its own cut-off, counts five losing weeks in a row.

For interpretation this means that a crossing of moving averages in a coin swinging within a tight range often produces false signals. What tells you more is whether the price then stays above or below the lines. In October it fell back below the 50-day line just one week after the golden cross.

Dogecoin price support: $0.0731, $0.068 and $0.0673

The first level is Monday's low of $0.0731. Below that comes the daily low of October 30 at $0.0721. KuCoin News names $0.068 as the next major support. That level sits close to the lowest close of the year at $0.0690 and just above the year's low of $0.0673 from July 23.

This zone between $0.0673 and $0.0690 is the area where Dogecoin turned in the summer. If it holds again, that would be a double bottom, as technical analysts call a low that has been defended twice. If it breaks, there are no lower closes in Kraken's history of the past two years on which a level could be based.

DOGE resistance: $0.079 and the moving averages around $0.086

On the upside, the first hurdle sits at around $0.079. According to KuCoin News, that is where the falling trend line runs, and it is where Dogecoin failed on October 28 with a close of $0.0796, the last day before the slide. Above that come $0.088 and the 200-day line.

The simple averages at $0.0857 and $0.0861 are the level at which the death cross effectively unwinds. To get there, the price would have to rise by just over 16 percent. That is possible for Dogecoin within a few days, but in the past four weeks there was not a single day when the price came anywhere near.

Holding period and loss offsetting: how DOGE losses count for 2026 taxes

In Germany, Dogecoin counts as an asset under Section 23 of the Income Tax Act. If you sell DOGE within one year of buying it, the gain is taxable once all private disposal gains for the year together reach the €1,000 exemption limit. After more than one year the sale is tax-free. Whether the holding period will be scrapped from 2027 is politically open; our page on the crypto holding period reform keeps the status up to date.

For a position in the red, the mechanism is interesting the other way round. Losses from a sale within the holding period can be offset against gains from other private disposals in the same year, for example a bitcoin gain. Whatever remains is carried forward to other years. Anyone who bought DOGE in November 2025 at $0.18 or more is now sitting on a loss of around 60 percent, and those purchases are dropping out of the one-year window in these weeks. After that, the loss can no longer be used for tax purposes.

The way to an overview runs through the exports from your exchanges. A crypto tax tool matches purchases and sales using the FIFO method and shows which parts of your position are still within the window. That is the basis before you consider selling before the end of the year.

Leverage on Dogecoin: liquidations accelerate the slide at key levels

Part of Dogecoin trading runs through perpetual futures, futures contracts without an expiry date that are traded with leverage. When the price falls, leveraged long positions are forcibly closed beyond a certain point. That liquidation is itself a sale and can accelerate the slide, especially at levels with many stops below them, as currently at $0.0731 and $0.0721.

If you trade with leverage, you should know the liquidation price of your position and compare it with the support levels above. If it sits just below $0.068, a swing like the one on October 30 is enough, when the daily low was 3.8 percent below the previous day's close. Platforms differ considerably in margin model, fees and funding costs; an overview of perp DEX providers shows the differences.

Buying under MiCA: licensing and spreads when you buy DOGE

Since the German transition period ended on December 30, 2025, providers that sell crypto assets in Germany need a licence under the EU's MiCA regulation. For you as a buyer this means that with a licensed provider, EU rules apply to custody, complaints and disclosure of costs.

With a coin trading at a small unit price such as Dogecoin, fees make a real difference. A spread of one percent costs €5 on a €500 purchase, and €6 a year on a savings plan of €50 a month. Our crypto exchange comparison lists spreads, trading fees and licensing status side by side. A limit order at one of the support levels named above is cheaper than a market order, because you set the price yourself.

Dogecoin after the death cross: our assessment

Our assessment: the Dogecoin death cross deserves more weight this time than the October golden cross, because two data sources point in the same direction. In its favour, the price is 14 percent below the 50-day line and the selling by addresses holding 10 to 100 million DOGE exceeds the buying by smaller ones. Against it, the distance to the summer bottom between $0.0673 and $0.0690 is now only 6 to 9 percent, and last time the signal ran more than eight months ahead of the low. We therefore see the zone around $0.068 as the real test for the coming weeks, rather than the cross itself. Crypto assets such as Dogecoin can fall all the way to a total loss.

Dogecoin at $0.0737: without $0.079 there is no turnaround

As long as Dogecoin stays below the trend line at $0.079, the death cross has the last word. Three steps you can take today, whatever your expectation:

  1. Check purchase dates: Export your transactions and let a crypto tax tool show which DOGE purchases are still within the one-year window and which loss can be offset in 2026.
  2. Set levels as limits: If you want to buy more, place limit orders at $0.0721 or $0.068 instead of chasing the price, and pick a platform from the exchange comparison.
  3. Limit leverage: Leveraged positions need a liquidation price below the year's low of $0.0673; the providers' terms are in the perp DEX comparison.
