Solana price prediction: the network creates 62,415 new SOL every day
Analysis: the Solana network issues 62,415 new SOL a day, regardless of where the price goes. We pulled the figure from the blockchain ourselves on Saturday and set it against trading volume, the staking ratio and the day's key levels.

What the data shows: the Solana network's inflation rate stands at 3.5777 percent a year in epoch 1073, which produces 62,415 new SOL every day. Our assessment follows further down: this figure does not explain the day's price action, but it sets the floor that any demand first has to overcome.
Solana traded at $95.72 on Saturday afternoon, the equivalent of €85.47. That is 0.92 percent higher than at the same time on Friday and 5.7 percent lower than a week ago. On a monthly view, it is down 18.4 percent. Our Solana price prediction looks at where the price could head over the coming months.
Where Solana stands on the last day of October
Trading was tight. The daily high was $96.94 and the daily low $93.57, a range of 3.6 percent. On Thursday evening, Solana posted its lowest daily close of the past 30 days at $95.47. Today the price is only 25 cents away from that level.
October opened at $118.04. That has since become $95.72, a decline of 18.9 percent. The high of the past 30 days is $121.52, 21.2 percent above the current price. On the downside, the next reliable zone is the low for the year of June 7, 2026 at $62.18, still 35 percent away. The all-time high of $293.31 sits 67.4 percent above today's price.
Market capitalisation is $56.49 billion, and trading volume over the past 24 hours was $2.58 billion. The price data comes from CoinGecko's public API, as of around 15:50 German time on October 31.
62,415 new SOL a day: how the emission is calculated
Solana's supply side can be recalculated down to the unit, with no third-party provider in between. On Saturday afternoon we ran three queries directly against a node of the Solana blockchain: getInflationRate, getSupply and getVoteAccounts. What they return does not appear in any price window.
The inflation rate of the current epoch 1073 is 3.5777 percent and applies to the total supply of 636,761,173 SOL. That gives 22,781,575 new SOL a year, or 62,415 a day. At a price of $95.72, that equals $5.97 million every day. For the whole of October, issuance adds up to around 1.93 million SOL, or $185.2 million.

At Solana, emission refers to the number of new units the protocol creates each epoch and distributes to validators. It is not the decision of a company but a fixed curve: starting at 8 percent a year, it falls by 15 percent annually until it ends at 1.5 percent. The technical description can be found in Anza's validator documentation.
Epoch 1073: how rewards are paid out to validators
Solana does not count in days but in epochs. An epoch comprises 432,000 slots and, at the current block time, lasts just under two days. Epoch 1073 was 44.5 percent complete on Saturday afternoon, with around 26.6 hours left until the changeover. Only at the end of an epoch does the protocol distribute the newly created SOL.
The recipients are 665 active validators, plus 27 nodes that are delinquent and receive nothing in this round. Distribution follows delegated stake, minus the commission each validator sets for itself. Anza's documentation on stake delegation and rewards describes in detail how delegation and rewards are linked.
The difference from bitcoin is larger than the bare percentage suggests. At bitcoin, new supply goes to miners, who have to pay for electricity and hardware and therefore sell regularly. At Solana, it goes to delegators whose SOL are already locked up. Some of it is delegated again, some sold. What share goes where cannot be read from the raw blockchain data, and we do not claim a ratio here.
433 million SOL staked, 156 million not
The second half of the calculation determines who the emission affects. Of the 590,095,106 SOL in circulation, 433,649,347 are delegated to validators. That is 73.49 percent of circulating supply and 68.10 percent of total supply. The remaining 156,445,759 SOL are unstaked, worth $14.97 billion at today's price.
This is the point that rarely comes up in price reports. Anyone who holds SOL without delegating receives nothing from the 62,415 new units but still bears the dilution. Their share of the network shrinks by 3.58 percent a year simply by doing nothing. Delegators receive a theoretical 5.25 percent gross, because issuance is spread across 68.10 percent of supply rather than all of it. After validator commission, less is left; with the usual commission of 5 to 10 percent, roughly 4.7 to 5.0 percent.

The gap between the two camps is just under 8.8 percentage points a year. On a holding of 100 SOL, that amounts to a difference of around 9 SOL after one year, roughly $860 at today's price. This is not a price forecast but a calculation about shares, and it holds whether Solana trades at $60 or $160.
Emission versus trading volume: 0.23 percent a day
That leaves the question of how much the issuance really weighs on the market. The $5.97 million in daily emission compares with trading volume of $2.58 billion. The ratio is 0.23 percent. Measured against the market capitalisation of $56.49 billion, October's $185.2 million dilutes the network by 0.33 percent a month.
Both figures say the same thing: the emission does not explain the day. Selling pressure of 0.23 percent of daily volume does not move a price by 5 percent. What it does explain is the direction when the market is becalmed. If demand fails to materialise, the price has to absorb the new supply on top, every single day.
The counter-calculation belongs here too. The emission curve falls by 15 percent every year. In two years it will mathematically be around 2.6 percent, in five years close to the floor of 1.5 percent. Dilution pressure is therefore easing, while the staking ratio of 73.49 percent of circulating supply is already high today. Both argue against the reading that the supply side is the price's main problem.
The day's levels: $93.57 at the low, $121.52 at the monthly high
Four values count for the coming days, and all four come from measured prices, not from models.
On the downside, $93.57 is the first level, Saturday's daily low. Thursday's close at $95.47 also shows that the area around $95 has now been tested several times. If $93.57 breaks, there is no zone marked out by October until the area around $85.
On the upside, $96.94 is the daily high and therefore the next short-term hurdle. Only above it does the path open towards $100, where Solana traded for five days from October 25 to 29. The bigger level remains the monthly high at $121.52.

What has changed since Friday's article
On Friday evening we examined the Solana futures market: there were 3.38 longs for every short, and that imbalance was seen as a risk. Since then, the price has risen from $95.47 to $95.72, or 0.3 percent. The expected unwinding of leveraged positions has not happened so far, and the price has held the $95 zone. If you want to read up on the futures side, you will find it in our analysis of leverage from October 30.
What is new today is the supply side, which has nothing to do with the futures market. Leveraged positions can vanish within hours; the emission keeps running. Therein lies the difference between positioning and a constant.
Compare the best crypto exchanges nowStaking in Germany: holding period and the €256 exemption limit
In Germany, SOL can be delegated in two ways, and they are not treated the same for tax purposes. Via an exchange it takes a few clicks, but the provider holds the keys. With your own wallet the keys stay with the holder, who in turn chooses the validator and its commission. The comparison of the best staking platforms shows which providers offer SOL staking and on what terms.
For tax purposes, ongoing staking income in Germany counts as other income under Section 22 No. 3 of the Income Tax Act. This type of income has an exemption limit of €256 a year. If it is exceeded, the entire amount becomes taxable, not just the part above it. At a 5 percent yield, the limit is reached with holdings of around €5,100, or about 60 SOL at today's price.
The sale of the SOL themselves falls under Section 23 of the Income Tax Act. After a holding period of one year, the gain is tax-free; below that, an exemption limit of €1,000 applies to all private sales in a year combined. Timing is decisive: staking rewards start their own holding period on the day they are received, not on the purchase date of the original holdings. Anyone delegating across several epochs therefore accumulates many individual holding periods.
In practice, this means the receipt data of every epoch must be documented, with date, amount and price at the time of receipt. With two-day epochs, that is hardly manageable by hand. The comparison of crypto tax tools shows which tools pull this data automatically from the blockchain and feed it into a tax return. This is not tax advice; individual cases belong with a tax adviser.
Editorial assessment: the supply side in the price picture
In the editorial team's view, Solana's emission is currently a weaker brake on the price than the calculation first suggests. Three pieces of evidence support this. First, the ratio of 0.23 percent to daily volume: a figure of this order moves nothing on a normal trading day. Second, the staking ratio of 73.49 percent of circulating supply, which immediately locks up most of the new supply again. Third, the declining curve, which reduces the pressure by 15 percent every year.
Duration argues against this. Pressure of $5.97 million a day is invisible on any single day, but over a quarter it no longer is. In October it came to $185.2 million, and the price lost 18.9 percent that month. Together, the two prove no causal link; they only show that the emission does not help in a weak market.
What we do not derive from this is a price direction. Anyone who makes the emission the main argument would have to explain why Solana stood at $72.79 in August and ran up to $118.04 by early October, even though issuance continued unchanged during that period. The demand side decides; the supply side only sets the floor it has to push against. Crypto investments can result in a total loss.
Solana emission: 62,415 SOL a day against $2.58 billion in volume
Three points count now. First, the emission of 62,415 SOL a day is a constant, not an event, and it hits unstaked holdings harder than delegated ones. Second, $93.57 is the level to the downside and $96.94 the level to the upside, and they are only 3.6 percent apart. Third, delegators need the receipt data for every epoch for their tax return, because each one starts its own holding period.
The changeover to epoch 1074 is due in around 26.6 hours, on Sunday evening German time. The protocol will then pay out the next round. If you want to compare the terms of different trading venues for SOL before reallocating anything, you will find them in the overview of the best crypto exchanges.
