Private Key Instead of Contract Address: Mika's Memecoin Drained in 81 Seconds
Influencer Mika posted the private key of her dev wallet instead of the contract address. 81 seconds later, 500 million MIKA were gone, sold for 376.9 SOL. The on-chain timeline, the nonce trick and the relaunch less than half an hour later.

Memecoin influencer Mika posted the private key of her dev wallet on X on Wednesday evening, instead of the contract address of her new coin Free Mika (MIKA). The key went public at 17:40:09 UTC, and with it anyone could empty the wallet. 81 seconds later, 500.4 million MIKA had been pulled out, half of the entire supply, and seven seconds after that they were sold for 376.9 SOL, roughly $38,000. The price fell 99%. Every one of these steps is public on the Solana blockchain, and the timeline below links each transaction.
Mika goes by @mikadontlouz on X, has 126,600 followers and is a well-known voice from the so-called trenches. That is what the scene calls the corner of Solana where thousands of new memecoins launch every day on Pump.fun, many of them gone within minutes. Less than half an hour later, her next coin was already live. This has little to do with investing: whoever buys here is betting on being faster than the bots.
It all happened in an already weak week. A day later the Binance hack unsettled the whole market, and Solana fell below $100. On Wednesday evening one SOL still cost about $101; on Friday at 01:44 UTC it was $93.94, according to CoinMarketCap.
In the German-speaking scene, trader Smart Money Crypto made the story widely known, and his post has more than 255,000 views. The clip in it is not from Wednesday, though. It comes from the livestream of the launch of Mika's first coin, WIN, in September 2025, and shows how these launches are staged: a party, people in Guy Fawkes masks, almost 1,900 viewers on the stream.
Free Mika: The Timeline From the Post to the Sale
The sequence can be traced second by second on the blockchain. The on-chain account Imperator pieced it together first, and the figures below come straight from the transactions. All times are UTC on October 28.
| Time | What happened |
|---|---|
| around 17:35 | Free Mika launches on Pump.fun, and its market value runs to $1.6 million within minutes. |
| 17:36:41 and 17:36:53 | A wallet buys 385,909 MIKA for 2.3 SOL. It will matter in a moment (first buy on Solscan). |
| 17:40:09 | Mika posts the private key of the dev wallet. The post has since been deleted. |
| 17:41:30 | 500,440,997 MIKA leave the dev wallet, signed with its key, and land in exactly that wallet (outflow on Solscan). |
| 17:41:37 | It sells 500.8 million MIKA in one go and receives 376.9 SOL (sale on Solscan). |
| 17:42:37 | The dev wallet is converted into a durable nonce account, paid for by a third address (conversion on Solscan). |
| around 18:03 | A second coin called Free Mika appears on Mika's profile. |
| 18:08 | The second Free Mika is already trading on PumpSwap, the exchange run by Pump.fun. |
At a SOL price of about $101, the sale brought in roughly $38,000. The first Free Mika, which peaked at a market value of $1.61 million on Pump.fun, stood at about $7,700 in the early hours of Friday.

Private Key vs. Contract Address: The House Key, Not the House Number
A coin's contract address is public. It is the house number everyone uses to find and buy the coin; on Solana it is usually 44 characters long, and on Pump.fun it ends in "pump". The private key is the house key to the wallet: whoever knows it can move everything inside, and nobody in the world can reverse that. An exported Solana key is 87 or 88 characters long, about twice the length of an address. How the two fit together is explained in our guide Private key and public key.
Mika's dev wallet held half of the one billion token supply. The wallet that grabbed it was no random visitor: it had already bought MIKA three and a half minutes before the post. That fits a sniper bot that automatically buys new launches from well-known accounts while scanning X for posted keys. Who is behind it, the blockchain does not show.
Durable Nonce: Why the Dev Wallet Was Locked After 148 Seconds
The last step is the most unusual one. At 17:42:37 UTC, 67 seconds after the outflow, the dev wallet was converted into a so-called durable nonce account: 80 bytes of storage and a new authority. A durable nonce is really a tool for signing transactions in advance and sending them later. Here it had a different effect: only the nonce authority can withdraw SOL from a nonce account, and the leaked key alone no longer does the job.
The conversion also requires the private key. Whoever runs it one minute after the outflow had the tool ready beforehand. Smart Money Crypto reads it as someone locking the door behind them so that no second bot could follow. Hardly anyone does that by hand and by chance.
Second Free Mika Coin: A Relaunch in Under Half an Hour
Smart Money Crypto describes what came next in detail: Mika opened a Space on X, cried and yelled at affiliates of the trading platform Axiom. She did not want attention, she said, she wanted a million dollars. Less than half an hour after the key post, the next coin was on her profile, again called Free Mika, and by 18:08 UTC it was already trading on PumpSwap.
According to Solana creator Elizacreatez, trackers showed four linked wallets holding 94% of the new supply, with Mika herself holding about half. Per Coinspeaker, the coin ran to a market value of about $1.5 million within minutes and was below $300,000 an hour later. In the early hours of Friday it stood at about $290,000, according to DexScreener. On top of that, more than a dozen copycats appeared on Pump.fun the same evening, with names like "The Private key" and "I LOST MY KEYS!!!".

Mika's Private Key Leak: Accident or Staged?
On X, the scene split into three camps. The biggest one is laughing. The second does not believe a word: Solana trader FabianoSolana called the loss staged, claimed the wallet had been turned into a nonce account before the post, and pointed out that Mika's first coin, WIN, had already made six figures. The blockchain refutes the part about the prepared wallet: the conversion came 148 seconds after the post. The third camp wants to keep going. Other influencers pushed Mika in the Space to relaunch the coin, paired with their own memecoins.
Mika herself now points to exactly this timeline. She shared Imperator's post and wrote overnight into Friday that it was the only account posting the actual blockchain proof while everyone else farmed engagement.
What is proven: a bot was in the wallet after 81 seconds, a second coin was live less than half an hour later, and there again a handful of wallets held almost everything. Whether it was an accident or staged, the blockchain proves neither. In both rounds, the bill went to the buyers who trusted an influencer launch.
Influencer Memecoins: One Wallet With 50% Is the Risk
Free Mika joins a long list of celebrity and influencer coins, from TRUMP and MELANIA to LIBRA, that lost most of their value after launch. The pattern is almost always the same: a famous name brings in buyers, a small group holds a large share of the supply, and liquidity is thin. Anyone buying a coin where half the supply sits in a single wallet is betting that this one wallet stays clean. You can find more on the opportunities and traps in our meme coin overview, and why the key is usually the way in for crypto hacks in 2026 is covered in Stolen keys beat code flaws.
For your own wallet, the simplest rule in the scene applies: your private key never goes into a text field anyone else can read. If you hold larger amounts, keep the key on a device that never gives it out. Suitable models are listed in our hardware wallet comparison.
