Easter eggs in games have always been appreciated by gamers, with dedicated Easter Eggs wikis being set up for many popular games these days. It remains to be seen if this idea will catch on due to the large number of excited gamers currently in frantic pursuit of the riches hidden by such games.

Bonuses and collectibles have been part and parcel of gaming for decades, and if cryptocurrencies do gain traction within the e-sports and gaming, we would see more tokens substituting the aforementioned bonuses. The Future
Cryptocurrencies in gaming are still in its infancy stages but its adoption by popular games are increasing their exposure and opening up massive opportunities led by research, innovation and development. This can lead to widespread adoption especially in interactive games like popular MMORPGs, where features like in-game currencies are increasingly being tokenized into cryptocurrencies thereby creating a true p2p crypto-gaming experience. Gaming companies are continuing to embrace cryptocurrencies with the onset of continuous updates and developments in 2018, notable the ERC-721 protocol that enabled the creation of unique, ‘non-fungible’ tokens within the gaming ecosystem. The future seems optimistic for the crypto-gaming ecosystem!
