As Bitcoin and other virtual currencies continue building their names, more and more companies and institutions are taking the risk (or I’d rather say joing the party) and adopting cryptocurrency as a mode of payment for their goods and services.
Most recent among the many companies taking a leap is a private jet company based in Houston, Texas that leases exclusive jets to its clients, TapJets.
Already leaders in their area of expertise, TapJets have developed a user-friendly platform for their clients to reserve their private plane instantly by merely using their smartphone or other pocket gadgets.
Just recently, the private jet company has ventured into the altcoins space, accepting payments in this digital currency due to its relatively low cost and wide user coverage. Apart from Altcoin, the company also takes payments from other major virtual currencies, Bitcoin and Ethereum.
In fact, Bitcoin became a payment option in July 2017 for the company, a move that saw a constant rise of transactions in the virtual currency in flight booking through their application, with figures doubling week after week.
Following this initial success with Bitcoin, TapJets announced this week that it would start accepting payments in Ethereum too, a high-ranking altcoin.
In a recent tweet on their twitter page, the jet company announced it would start accepting payments in digital currency. The company’s CEO, Eugene Kesselman, created a brief poll for Ripple (XRP), Litecoin (LTC), and Verge (XVG) on the tweet as to which would be the right coin for the company should adopt next.
Our #cryptocurrency friends asked for their project to be included in our payment methods. Our CEO @EugeneKesselman promised a quick poll from the product team so here it is #XVG vs #XRP vs #LTC what should be our next move #FLYTAPJETS

The poll elicited a lot of activity online, getting more than 22 thousand participants taking part in selecting their preferred virtual currency, a majority of them favored LTC as their preferred currency.
In a recent press release, Eugene Kesselman disclosed that the main selling point of the digital currencies from the company’s viewpoint that would be considered for adoption would depend on the speed of doing transactions. An important factor for such a high-end product as an exclusive jet hire.
Bitcoin and Ethereum’s profound blockchain technology that allows instant payments to take place not only allows speedy transaction but also offers heightened security to both sender and receiver, as it makes available an accurate paper trail for transactions should any inconvenience takes place down the line.
Ripple (XRP): Is rarely used as an everyday payment currency due to its lack of a definitive personal wallet application that is user-friendly with minimal technicalities. The current price of XRP stands at $0.67.
Following the poll, Litecoin is currently leading at this time of writing, with 38% of votes, followed closely by Ripple who garnered 36% of votes cast. Although being reliable and leading in the poll, Litecoin is slower and charges high transactions fees compared to other virtual currencies.
Litecoin (LTC): Has an edge in the market for being widely accepted and readily available to US-based users, through Gemini exchange and Coinbase.
LTC is also seen to be the most stable in price requisites, with it recording minimal price fluctuation for extended periods. LTC current price stands at $136.05.
Verge (XVG): Has been witnessing a steady price decline with its price stands at $0.053. Regardless of its poor performance in the market, the currency enjoys a high public profile thanks to recent marketing efforts paying off.
What do you think, which crypto you think TapJets should add?
