Hollywood Actor Kurt Russell to Star In a Cryptocurrency Movie

Kurt Russell, one of Hollywood’s biggest actors is going to star in a cryptocurrency movie.The film called Crypto will also feature Alexis Bledel, Jeremie Harris and Luke Hemsworth, among others. Russell’s other standout movies include Big Trouble in Little China (1986), Overboard (1987) and Tequila Sunrise (1988). Among his notable later films are Backdraft (1991), Stargate (1994), Breakdown (1997), Dark Blue (2003) and Poseidon (2006).

Though Kurt Russell has made fewer film appearances in recent years, he found time to work with Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez on Grindhouse (2007). Russell also has a role in Fast & Furious 7, a film whose production was impacted by the tragic death of franchise star Paul Walker.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the film centers around an anti-money laundering agent, played by Beau Knapp, who comes back to the place where he grew up in New York to investigate a case of corruption. Russell is playing the dad of Knapp’s character. Directed by John Stalberg Jr., this movie is written by Carlyle Eubank and David Frigerio based on an original story by Jeffrey Ingber and produced by Yale Prods.’ Jordan Yale Levine and Jordan Beckerman alongside David Frigerio.

Director John Stalberg Jr whose debut, High School, starring Adrien Brody and Colin Hanks, premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and quickly gained a cult following upon its theatrical release said that

“I am overjoyed to be working with such an incredible cast to bring this timely, thrilling story to life.Beau is incredibly talented, and seeing him bring this character to life opposite talent like Alexis, Kurt, Luke, Jeremie and Vincent has been a dream come true.”

Crypto is currently being shot in New York and its release date is yet to be announced. Jordan Yale Levine, a co-producer of the film said that

“Cryptocurrency has captured the attention and imagination of consumers and entrepreneurs all over the world but has never been explored in film in such a nuanced and exciting way”
