Boeing to Develop Blockchain Based Unmanned Vehicles

Boeing, an American multinational company that designs, manufactures, and sells airplanes has announced to develop a blockchain based autonomous vehicle. It is partnering with artificial intelligence (AI) technology giant, SparkCognition, to create unmanned aircraft system traffic management (UTM) solutions.

According to its press release, the newly-founded Boeing NeXt company will lead future commercial mobility solutions and bring flight closer to home. The company’s aim is to use artificial intelligence and blockchain technologies to track unmanned air vehicles in flight and allocate traffic corridors and routes for safe and secure transportation. This partnership will will also deliver a regulated programming interface to carry package delivery, industrial inspection and other commercial applications.

Amir Husain, founder and CEO of SparkCognition said that

Boeing is the world’s biggest aerospace company and leading manufacturer of commercial jetliners and defense, space and security systems. The company is a top U.S. exporter. It also supports airlines and U.S. and allied government clients in more than 150 countries. It also manufactures commercial and military aircraft, satellites, weapons, electronic and defense systems, launch systems, advanced information and communication systems, and performance-based logistics and training.
