Is The Ethereum Upgrade Driving The Bullish Momentum For ETH Price?

Ethereum (ETH) price is experiencing a resurgence, sparking optimism among investors and analysts. Ethereum is poised for potential gains with the price rising above key moving averages (MAs) and breaking through critical resistance levels. In addition, an upcoming Ethereum upgrade, involving based rollups, could significantly impact the network’s value, with some experts predicting a major long-term price increase. This article explores the current market performance, Ethereum key resistance levels and bullish signals, and the potential to reach new heights.

Ethereum Bullish Signals: A Long-Term Price Increase?

In the past 24 hours, Ethereum has made notable progress, recovering from a sharp decline that saw its price drop to $2,154 a few days ago. After trading near $2,400, ETH is showing several bullish signs. According to market experts, the 8-hour chart reveals a pending buy signal and a bullish divergence, indicating a potential momentum shift toward the upside.

The cryptocurrency has also broken above a downward trendline that has been in place since late August, signaling a possible reversal. Additionally, Ethereum is reclaiming its 200-week moving average, a key level that could further solidify the recovery if the positive momentum continues. However, maintaining this upward trajectory is essential, as failing to do so could lead to a retest of lower support levels between $2,100 and $2,300.

Ethereum Key Resistance Levels

Ethereum price is now approaching crucial resistance levels, with crypto analysts noting that a consolidation above $2,850 would confirm a breakout from the current downtrend. Such a move would set Ethereum on a path toward the $3,000 mark, a level not seen since early August.

Despite the recent gains, Ethereum's trading volume has dropped by 15% over the past 48 hours, a potential warning sign of limited buying pressure. Longer time frames show ETH still suffering from the sharp declines of the past month, posting losses of almost 4% over the past week and nearly 9% over the last 30 days.

Ethereum Upgrade: A Game Changer?

Beyond price movement, Ethereum’s upcoming upgrade involving based rollups presents a significant opportunity for the network. These rollups, which alter Ethereum’s incentive structure, could dramatically increase demand for ETH and create new revenue streams for validators. Validators, who currently earn about 3% yield, could see much higher returns as based rollups are implemented, with potential yields reaching up to 15%.

The rollup model integrates directly with Ethereum validators, offering extra rewards for processing and validating transactions. This competitive environment could increase the overall value captured by validators, making ETH staking more appealing. Additionally, certain rollups may require validators to burn or spend ETH, further boosting demand.

Could Ethereum Reach New Heights?

As the Ethereum network becomes more modular and efficient through layer-2 (L2) solutions like based rollups, it could lead to a supply shock, driving up demand for staked ETH. Some experts predict that these changes could propel Ethereum’s price to new heights, with highly positive estimates suggesting a $100,000 valuation within the next decade if these upgrades succeed in enhancing the platform’s functionality and financial incentives. How likely to happen with these mixed signals between Buy and Sell?

Ethereum price recovery and upcoming upgrades indicate strong potential for future growth. While short-term volatility remains a factor, the implementation of based rollups could transform Ethereum’s staking landscape, resulting in significantly higher validator yields and increased demand for ETH. Investors and market participants should keep a close eye on Ethereum's performance and the progress of these upgrades, as both could play a crucial role in determining the long-term value of the network.
