Internet-Goliaths have been making big headlines this week by announcing controversial actions. Among them social media big shot Facebook. As we’ve reported all ads concerning crypto or even mentioning the word bitcoin or ICO will get your ad banned on the platform. Facebook accepts a huge loss and send lots of customer over to their competitor Google who is happy to accept billions in revenue from it.

Apple is next.

Apple has removed the Telegram App from its app store. Telegram CEO Pavel Durov responded quickly. “We were alerted by Apple that inappropriate content was made available to our users and both apps were taken off the App Store.Once we have protections in place we expect the apps to be back on the App Store.”

While he is positive, Apple’s and Facebook’s action demonstrates their abuse in power. Both blame scammers and users for inappropriate behavior. Small and big business owners and their users will be having a huge downside.

Telegram has raised to be one of the most popular communication tools. Not only because their CEO is openly advocating a disruption of the status quo. The announcement of their ICO made them into a real competition. They have been subject of media attacks naming them “terrorists favourite tool”.

Telegram responds with a blast:

Telegram was quick responding with the announcement of their newest product “Telegram X” They descripe it as a faster, easier to use and higher in quality. “The Telegram X project features apps written from scratch, with an entirely new code base and without all the legacy components that our older apps have accumulated through the years.”

The question that comes up: Is this the start of a big attack towards a more centralized approach. There is not doubt that many companies fear the new possibilities the blockchain is offering. The big “breakthrough” and “disruption of the system” has yet to come. But there is no doubt about huge effects these first steps blockchain companies have on established financial and social media providers. Many see 2018 as the year we will finally see some
